Don’t be one of the failures in affiliate marketing. Choose to copy the actions of successful affiliate marketers. Don’t try to reinvent the wheel. Here are some key points to keep in mind.

1. Be choosy when picking the niche you’re going into to promote products. You want a market where people are already spending money. Why sell a product no one is looking for.

Some of the top selling markets never get fully saturated. The work at home, weight loss, health and fitness are examples of markets that keep on producing profits.

Your chances of success are greater in these types of niches.

2. Master one product before you add more products or build another site. You will perform better on multiple products once you have mastered the art of successful marketing with your first product. Some sites look like a flea market and have so many choices it can actually distract the visitor.

3. Build your own website, or if possible, make substantial changes to your affiliate site. If not, you will look just like all the other sites out there.

4. You need a sign-up form (opt-in box) to build your own list. If you want to be successful in the long run, you must have your own list to market to in the future. This will give you a chance to brand yourself and build a reputation as a trusted source for new opportunities.

5. Use keywords in your site to help your prospective customers find you. You don’t have to re-invent the wheel. Do what the successful affiliates do. There is a reason they are successful.

6. Try and test as many different marketing ads and traffic generating methods as possible. Rinse and repeat the ones that work and get rid of the losers.

7. Promote products you use and believe in. You will be trusted more if people can tell you have faith in the products you are promoting. Being familiar with your product makes it easier to answer your prospects questions and point out the benefits of your product versus the competition.

When you have built a faithful following, you will be able to produce profits on demand. Some of your longtime customers will by what you recommend because of past experiences. Some customers will become lifetime customers. Statistics show that 80% of your revenues are derived from 20% of your customers.
